On Saturday, October 26, 2019, PORT (People of Remarkable Talents) in collaboration with the arts collective Gerakan Seni Ipoh (Ipoh Arts Movement), organized the inaugural Ipoh Music Symposium. The event aimed to invite academics and independent music industry players to present their papers and foster discussions on the importance, influence, and impact of the independent music movement on society. The focus was on the younger generation and the social, political, historical, aesthetic, cultural, religious, and economic viewpoints.
