Introduction

The Ipoh Music Symposium (IMS) is dedicated to gathering diverse perspectives on the music field through presentations by esteemed panelists and presenters. Our primary goal is to stimulate engaging discussions and deeply explore the profound impact of music on society, particularly on the younger generation, from a wide range of viewpoints including social, political, historical, aesthetic, cultural, religious, and economic perspectives.

Ipoh Music Symposium edisi keempat pada kali ini dianjurkan oleh People Of Remarkable Talents (PORT) dan Kerajaan Negeri Perak dengan sokongan Geran Sepadan Sektor Kebudayaan (GSSK) dari Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia. Bertemakan “Pop 1960-an: Emulasi, Revolusi & Legasi”, program ini turut mendapat kerjasama antaranya, Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Wilayah Utara, JKKN Perak, Majlis Kebudayaan Negeri, Tourism Perak dan Penang House of Music.

The fourth edition of the Ipoh Music Symposium (IMS) took place from October 21st to 23rd, 2022. The symposium focused on the theme "Pop 60an: Emulasi, Revolusi & Legaso”, exploring the vibrant music scenes of the 1960s in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
