The Dana Kreatif Perak @ PORT (DKP) is a funding scheme that supports arts practitioners and creative entrepreneurs born in Perak or for those who continue to live in Perak for a minimum of five years. DKP prioritises local creative arts projects that combine traditional and modern/contemporary elements or involve cross-disciplinary elements spanning more than two fields. DKP aims to establish itself as a brand that will leave a lasting legacy among the nation’s creative arts players.

Additionally, it aims to:

  • Expand the creation of creative arts among talented individuals in the fields of art and creativity.
  • Enhance the reputation of Perak arts practitioners at national, regional, and international levels.
  • Alleviate the financial burden on artists participating in exhibitions, performances, concerts, workshops, and forums abroad.

Featuring 25 classic songs performed by local artists such as Ezad Aziz, Zetty, Deyana, Ahmad Yasin, and the band Mangrove, the event recreated the vibrant spirit of the 1960s through themed decor, fashion, and live music.

Project Description: Filokalis is the third solo album by Mohd Jayzuan, released on September 27, 2021. Described as a romantic-pop record, the album captures deeply personal and intimate reflections inspired by a significant person in Jayzuan’s life. It features five tracks: Telang Ungu, Dhanjelita, Februari, 11, Rintih Pesan, and Anya. The album was recorded across two locations. Jayzuan’s vocals were recorded in Nagarakota, Lumut (Malaysia), while Indonesian producer Adink Permana recorded the instrumentals in Jakarta. Adink, known for his work with bands like Sore and Payung Teduh, contributed keyboards, guitar, bass, percussion, and synths. Filokalis was mixed by Dzulky Sunarya and mastered by Solideo Kevin at Sine Studio in Jakarta.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: MANDI BUNYI – Space Gambus Experiment feat. Adiguru Che Mat Jusoh is an experimental music project that fuses traditional Malay sounds with contemporary audio exploration. Led by Kamal Sabran, the piece features the rebab played by Adiguru Che Mat Jusoh, creating a unique sonic landscape that bridges cultural heritage and modern expression. The project was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the Ipoh Experimental Art School with the assistance of Mhd Sany Mhd Hanif, and is supported by Dana Kreatif Perak under PORT Ipoh.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Kopi Sechewen V.4 is the fourth installment of an independent music compilation album featuring indie bands primarily from Perak, especially Ipoh. This project is produced by Bodysurf Music, which has been curating the Kopi Sechewen series since 1997. The release of Volume 4 is part of the DKP initiative, a creative platform organized by PORT since 2019 to support and showcase local talent.

The Look is an original music video produced by Wickweaky, showcasing the combined efforts of emerging Malaysian talents in music and film production. Released on February 11, 2022, the project features a song written and composed by Matin, alongside Aron, Saniy, Bartdrul, and Adam. The track was recorded at Smelly Wreckchords Studio, mixed by Amy Ladd, and mastered by Steve Corrao in the USA. The music video was written, directed, and edited by Bartdrul, with co-writing and production support from Matin, Leshem, and the Fluent Pixels team. Visual production involved professionals including Eddie Syahir as the VFX artist, production manager, and camera operator, with contributions from a dedicated crew and talented cast.

Mohd Jayzuan
Filokalis is the third solo album by Mohd Jayzuan, released on September 27, 2021. Described as a romantic-pop record, the album captures deeply personal and intimate reflections inspired by a significant person in Jayzuan’s life. It features five tracks: Telang Ungu, Dhanjelita, Februari, 11, Rintih Pesan, and Anya. The album was recorded across two locations. Jayzuan’s vocals were recorded in Nagarakota, Lumut (Malaysia), while Indonesian producer Adink Permana recorded the instrumentals in Jakarta. Adink, known for his work with bands like Sore and Payung Teduh, contributed keyboards, guitar, bass, percussion, and synths. Filokalis was mixed by Dzulky Sunarya and mastered by Solideo Kevin at Sine Studio in Jakarta.
Kamal Sabran
MANDI BUNYI – Space Gambus Experiment feat. Adiguru Che Mat Jusoh is an experimental music project that fuses traditional Malay sounds with contemporary audio exploration. Led by Kamal Sabran, the piece features the rebab played by Adiguru Che Mat Jusoh, creating a unique sonic landscape that bridges cultural heritage and modern expression. The project was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the Ipoh Experimental Art School with the assistance of Mhd Sany Mhd Hanif, and is supported by Dana Kreatif Perak under PORT Ipoh.
Bodysurf Music
Kopi Sechewen V.4 is the fourth installment of an independent music compilation album featuring indie bands primarily from Perak, especially Ipoh. This project is produced by Bodysurf Music, which has been curating the Kopi Sechewen series since 1997. The release of Volume 4 is part of the DKP initiative, a creative platform organized by PORT since 2019 to support and showcase local talent.

Masquerader
Teleportasi is the official music video by Masquerader, released on February 28, 2020. The song was produced by Yusaini, with vocal production by Saiful Ridzuan. The video was directed and edited by Hakim Ibrahim, with cinematography and color work by Hadib, and produced by Warisan Films and PWS. The band members include Amen Azahari, Nurshah Shadik, Rafiq Rabbani, Ashry Shafie, M. Zaifa, and Sabri Safee. Sponsored by Insider Satellite Ipoh, Kaki Besi, Orion Music, AJ Sound Entertainment, and Art Board Studio, the project blends strong visuals and sound to portray themes of escape and transformation.
Radiowave
Pentas Jiwa is the debut Malay language music video by Radiowave, premiered on October 10, 2020. The song was composed by Taqwa and Radiowave, with lyrics written by Pijie. The video features artistic direction by Radiowave in collaboration with Iman, visually complementing the song’s themes of emotional journey and self-reflection.
Lovethee
Sepuh Rasa is an original song by Lovethee, officially released on July 5, 2021. The track was composed by Nadzri Shaharuddin and produced and mixed by Najmi Jamaludin. As part of Lovethee’s debut album of the same name, Sepuh Rasa reflects a raw, heartfelt sound that captures the spirit of Malaysia’s underground music scene.
Balok People
Haroom Man is an original music video by Balok People, officially released on June 11, 2019. The song was written and composed by Wira, with recording completed in January 2019. The project was produced, recorded, and mixed by Rizal Yusof, showcasing a blend of creative songwriting and professional production.
Mosca Embassy
The Starlight Cinema music video by Mosca Embassy was a collaborative project involving multiple creative contributors. The song was written, produced, and directed by Mosca Embassy, with audio recording, mixing, and mastering by I Seek Music Studio. Visual production was managed by Hadib and Warisan Films, who were responsible for video editing, while Twenty Five Sound and Light handled lighting and visual effects. Backline support was provided by Orion Music PJH. The project also received valuable contributions from Port Ipoh, Moza Haird Rockers, and Throwback Café.
