The third edition of the Ipoh Music Symposium took place on 1st to 3rd October, 2021. The theme for the event was “Nusantara Music: Tracing Tradition and Contemporary”. The term “Nusantara” refers to a geographic region and a unique social and cultural sphere that includes Southern Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Indonesian Archipelago, and the Southern Philippines. This area is part of the broader Southeast Asian region and is renowned for its rich diversity of ethnicities and cultures. Organized during the Covid-19 pandemic, this programme was conducted in a hybrid manner (both virtual and physical) with support from CENDANA and Tourism Perak.
