Artist’s Biography | : | Quinary M was a Malaysian pop band formed in the late 1970s in Ipoh, Perak, by five siblings from the Hamzah family: Mahani, Mahayon, Maznah, Mazlan, and Mazuin. The group was initially known as “The M” before being renamed “Quinary M,” which refers to its five-member lineup. They rose to popularity after participating in RTM’s 1978 Bakat TV competition, when their mix of disco and pop music gained public attention. The group disbanded in 1981 after their father died, but their work is still regarded as part of Malaysia’s early pop music history. |
