Artist’s Biography | : | Aminah Ahmad was a well-known singer from Ipoh, Perak, active from the 1950s to the 1970s. In 1965, she achieved great success when she was crowned the champion in a singing competition organized by Radio Malaysia in Ipoh. She was the lead singer of Orkes Rishah, a music ensemble founded and led by the then Sultan of Perak, Sultan Idris Shah II. The name Orkes Rishah was derived from the Sultan’s initials, Raja Idris Shah. Almarhum Sultan Idris’ Rishah Orkes. |
