| Artist’s Biography | : | Wings is a Malaysian hard rock band formed in Kuala Lumpur in 1985, with a classic lineup featuring Awie on vocals, Joe on guitar, Eddie on bass, and Black on drums. Although the band itself was not founded in Perak, its most iconic vocalist, Awie, spent part of his upbringing in Ipoh, Perak, which ties the group to the state through his background. Wings became famous after releasing their debut album Belenggu Irama in 1987 and produced major hits like “Misteri Mimpi Syakilla,” “Sejati,” and “Taman Rashidah Utama.” The band still performs today and remains one of Malaysia’s most influential rock acts. |
